My group is hosting an event at the Cornell Tech cafe with the goal of bridging our student body with the Roosevelt Island community. Multiple Roosevelt Island restaurants will be offering small treats so students can get a taste of the variety of foods the Island has to offer. We will also be playing Christmas music and hope to have some activities including arts and crafts at the event.
Weve named the event Lets Eat RI and will hold it this Friday (12/1) in the Cornell Tech cafe from 2-5pm. Were hoping to attract people from all over Roosevelt Island.
During the November 27 Roosevelt Island Cornell Tech Town Hall MeetingThis workshop-based service learning course will engage students in participatory design projects that use technology to re-imagine community services and infrastructure in urban contexts. Teams of 2-3 students will be paired with individuals and organizations working on Roosevelt Island and elsewhere in the city, to learn and apply user-centered and participatory design methodologies towards important challenges facing the city and its inhabitants….
