Severe NYC Thunderstorms This Afternoon – Here’s A View From Roosevelt Island Starbucks

The New York City Office of Emergency Management tweets:

The National Weather Service issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning (QU,BK,BX,MN) until 5:30PM.

Did you get caught outside by this afternoon’s severe thunderstorm or did you find a safe haven out of the rain? I found some relief from the rain at the Roosevelt Island Starbucks before running home and getting soaked. Here’s what it looked like from outside Starbucks. Hopefully, the rain will cool down some of the brutal heat from the last couple of days but it will also keep the Mobile Food Trucks from coming to Roosevelt Island tonight. La Bella Torte tweets:
